With the kind of reviews and awards this novel has got i dont think my writing a word or two about the author or the book will add much or will reduce much from its popularity. But i thought i should do my part.
It was refershing to read something out of the orthodox nature of fantasy genre. The same old good vs evil and the prophecy fulfills or the damsel in distress stories were getting a bit rusty. And this was different. And by different i dont mean this lacks the basic fantasy elements like magic but what really drives the novel is the character of kvothe...yup thats the guy on cover page...and his struggle against life itself...
From living with his parents among the edema ruh to living as an orphan on the streets of taborean to joining the university...this novel builds a path for kvothe.
So all in all a very nice read...you wont get to know the name of wind after reading this novel but it surely will entertain you till the very end...
